There are several ways you can get involved and it all depends on how God is calling you at this particular time.

Cash Donations

As you can imagine, we need money to purchase the food we serve and take out to the woods.  If you would like to help in this way, please provide us a check made out to Bethany Lane Baptist Church, with Homeless Ministry in the memo.  You can give that check to Dennis or place in the offering plate on Sunday.  All donations are tax deductible.

Pantry

For the food pantry, we simply need people to bring in food.  At church you will see small cards in our lobby that have different food items written on them.  These are the things that we need at this time.  Feel free to take one or more and purchase that item the next time you are shopping and bring it to church the next time you are here.  These items are used to feed homeless people in the woods and for families that stop by and are in need.

Day Center

If you want to help with the Day Center, you can do any of the following

    Purchase food

    Cook food

    Heat and transport food to Center

    Serve at the Center (there are different jobs there)

                greeter at front door

                serve food

                work in food pantry and clothes closet

                just hangout and get to know everyone

    Transport Homeless to and from the Center

Our church serves at the Center on the 3rd Monday and 3rd Saturday of every month.  For Monday, we cook right after the 11:00 service at church and we serve at the Center from 2:00 - 6:00.  We usually arrive at 1:30 so we can get set up.  You can also serve for part of the day.

For Saturday, we cook on Friday at 1:00 at the church and we serve at the Center from 10:00 -- 2:00.  We usually arrive at 9:30 so we can get get set up.  You can also serve for part of the day.

If you want to serve, please send me an email. We can’t have too many people serve due to space limitations, so I need to know who is interested.

We also need certain things at certain times.  To see what we need now, click here.  If you purchase something for this ministry and would like to report this as a donation on your taxes, please give me a copy of the receipt and I will make sure it is reflected on your donation record.
